Dangal released last year but it is still minting money for its producers. Its India numbers were enough to put it on massive profit path because the film itself was made at a budget of Rs 70 crore. By earning over Rs 380 crore in India, it had already earned more than its cost of production. But the makers weren’t content with just that. They added more than Rs 1000 crore to the tally with earnings from China alone and now completed first week in Hong Kong with Rs 7.04 crore in its kitty. There is no stopping this film. Everywhere it goes, Dangal is minting money like crazy and HK wasn’t an exception at all.
Aamir Khan has become a favourite of that nation. They even shot a video on the Dhakkad song to tell the actor how much they loved the film in China. Well, we feel TOH should also get release in HK.
The official figures of the film are as such, “The reported collection of Dangal is US$ 1.11 Mn at the HK & Macau box office so far. With an excellent word of mouth in the market, Thursday of the Second Week (US$ 109 K) is even higher than the opening day (US$ 85 K)! (Thu – US$ 85 K, Fri – US$ 109 K, Sat – US$ 215 K, Sun – US$ 215 K, Mon – US$ 94 K, Tue – 107 K, Wed – 99 K, Thu – US$ 109 K). Dangal Overseas Total = US$ 215.03 Mn. Dangal Worldwide Total (including India) = US$ 295.54 Mn.” Taran Adarsh too called the film ‘Sensational’ in HK in the first week.
